Standards: ELA w6.3a -Orient the reader by establishing a situation and introducing a narrator and/or characters; Organize an event that sequence that unfolds naturally
Prompt: Pick a fairytale with a theme of three and narrate it with the character that is traditionally portrayed as the antagonist. Change the sequence of events so that what happens first happens last. Be sure to define the narrator clearly and use the sequence of events to to support the image of the narrator.
Reflection: I believe that imaginative narratives in the content areas are a great way to see what students know. If an elementary decides to assign imaginative narratives in content areas they could be used for two grades because there are two different standards. Middle school and high school teachers could even collaborate and still use the assignment as two different grades. However it may have some implications. Students who may not be strong writers could shy away from the assignment because there is writing involved. Nevertheless, it is still an amazing assignment that I would definitely use in the future.
